You received your A# on your acceptance letter and now need to set up a strong password at myid.usu.edu.  Your A# and strong password will be used to log into many programs needed on campus.  Utah State has implements a two-step login process for all USU employees with DUO.  In myid.usu.edu please set up your aggiemail account at "Manage my Aggiemail".  If you are set up on payroll you will also receive a usu.edu email.  Any official USU correspondence needs to be on your usu.edu account or aggiemail account if no usu.edu email is set up. Your major professor is your advisor and supervisor.  You are encouraged to meet often and set expectations.  You will be orientated to your lab and work space.  Safety and other trainings are required prior to access.

We encourage you to register after discussion courses with your major professor.  A USU students dashboard is located at my.usu.edu You will register for courses using "Banner" on the left menu. You are encouraged to familiarize yourself with this webpage.  Tuition and fees are also paid via the "TouchNet Payment System" on my.usu.edu.

Graduate students on a PhD path have their tuition paid by the department.  Fees and book are the responsibility of the student.  If you are a non-resident the first two semesters the graduate school applies a waiver for the non resident portion of the tuition.  After the two semesters or one year the student must be granted residency or pay for the non resident portion of the tuition. 

Your major professor is your partner in this endeavor.  Keep communication open and expectations clearly identified.  You will receive an offer letter from the department that explains many important responsibilities and requirements.  During your first semester you will review a "memorandum of understanding" that will list additional important information that both you and your major professor will sign.
