Dr. Lyle McNeal
McNeal, an animal science professor in USU's College of Agriculture, is one of 40 professors from across the nation honored on November 15, 2007 in Washington, D.C., as a Carnegie Professor of the Year. The awards recognize outstanding professors for their influence on teaching and their outstanding commitment to teaching undergraduate students. There were winners in 40 states and the District of Columbia. USU is home to eight of the last 13 Carnegie Professors of the Year in Utah. 
Anne E. Justice-Allen
Dr. Justice-Allen was awarded “Veterinarian of the Year” in September 2007 by the Utah Veterinary Medical Association for service to the communities of Utah in the area of emergency response and disaster planning. She has developed disaster response plans for several communities and for the UVMA, and has provided training to the Utah Animal Control Officers in emergency planning and response. As one of the principals of the Utah Emergency Animal Response Coalition, she has obtained grants totaling $12,000 for emergency evacuation, sheltering and response resources and training for the people and pets of Utah. She is also a Master’s student in Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Science at Utah State University. Anne decided to return to school after a career in private practice that lasted 20 years in order to study preventive veterinary medicine and epidemiology. She is studying several aspects of mycoplasma mastitis and has received grants from the American Association of Bovine Practitioners and the USU CIB to assist her in her research.

She lives in Smithfield with her husband Kelly, and an extended family of four legged kids of many species.
